Orchid Pots

Classic orchid pots

This is my most popular style. Use it to display your orchids in flower or pot your orchid directly into it. A mesh screen holds your plant up off of the bottom of the saucer.

  • The inner flange keeps the orchid from sitting in water.
  • Air can circulate around the bottom of the orchid to keep the potting medium from becoming soggy.
  • A liner pot can be used with both one-piece and two-piece pots.
  • Orchids can be directly potted into two-piece pots and receive the benefit of increased airflow through the side holes.
  • Two-piece pots come with a tray to catch water.
  • The pots can hang from the ceiling or wall.

Phrag Pots

This line of orchid pots is designed to let your orchid sit in water. Phragmipedium is one genus of orchids that prefers to sit in a little water.
Key benefits:

  • They come with an extra deep dish to hold extra water and increase the length of time between waterings.
  • Both one and two-piece pots are available
  • You may pot your orchid directly in both styles of pot.
  • We carry tall pots that are better for direct potting and shorter pots that are good for using with liner pots.

Mini Pots

These extra small pots are perfect for potting or displaying your extra small orchids. They look great in groups and are small enough to fit on narrow window sills.

  • Mini pots do not have an inner flange.
  • They all have drainage holes in the bottom, but they do not come with trays (copper trays are available).
  • These pots come in sizes as small as 1 inch.
  • They can be hung on the walls of orchidariums using a wire or s-hook.

Unglazed orchid pots

Unlgazed pots are perfect at keeping roots moist but not soaking. Water slowly seeps through and up the walls of the pot. Enough water soaks though to keep sphagnum moss wet and can filled with water as infrequently as once a week.

  • Unglazed pots come in any size starting at 1 inch tall.
  • Orchids can be mounted on the outside of the pot and water can be put on the inside to keep the mounted orchid damp for as long as a week.
  • Orchids can be potted on the inside and set in trays of water to keep moist indefinitely.
  • Small pots are light enough to hang on orchidarium walls.
  • A high rate of evaporation keeps the roots cool (should work great for Masdevallias).

Orchid trees

This is my newest line of pots, and I am very excited about their potential. Orchid trees are unglazed and designed to hold water. The water will slowly seep through the walls of the pot to keep the orchid roots damp.

  • The unglazed trees can be filled with water or set in water-filled trays to keep mounted orchids moist.
  • More than one orchid can be mounted on each tree.
  • You can mount orchids in the fork of the tree for a more natural look.
  • These pots have all of the benefits of the unglazed pots listed above.

Copper Trays

Copper humidity trays are a great way to increase the humidity around your orchids. Especially in the winter when the air is dry, your orchids need extra humidity to stay healthy. These trays hold water, and let it slowly evaporate to creat a humid micorclimate around the plant sitting in it. I grow many of my orchids in copper trays.

  • Copper humidity trays are made narrow enough to sit on small window sills.
  • They are just the right size to hold mini orchid pots and small unglazed orchid pots.
  • These trays increase the humidity around the orchid pots.
  • Custom sizes are available.
